Racing for Smiles: Lakes Heating & Air Conditioning Teams Up with T-Strong to Spread Joy to Kids Battling Cancer

At Lakes Heating and Air Conditioning, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. This year, we were honored to partner with T-Strong, a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading joy and hope to children fighting cancer in Ohio, for their annual “The T-Strong 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run” on August 11th.

The event was more than just a race; it was a celebration of our community’s resilience, hope, and strength. Families, friends, and supporters from all walks of life came together to run, walk, and cheer for a cause that touches the hearts of so many. The sun was shining, spirits were high, and every step taken was a step closer to making a difference in the lives of children battling cancer.

Founded in 2019 by Tim Reed and his mother, Carol Reed, T-Strong was born out of Tim’s personal journey with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Diagnosed at the tender age of three, Tim knows firsthand the challenges that come with fighting cancer as a child. He also knows the immense joy and comfort that simple acts of kindness can bring, like receiving a toy or gift during a hospital stay. This experience inspired Tim to create T-Strong, with a mission to pay it forward and bring smiles to the faces of children who are going through similar battles.

At Lakes Heating and Air Conditioning, we are inspired by Tim’s story and the incredible work that T-Strong does. We were proud to support this year’s Fun Run, not just as a sponsor but as active participants in spreading the message of hope and positivity. Seeing the joy on the faces of the children, their families, and the many supporters was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

The funds raised during the event will go directly to supporting T-Strong’s mission of providing toys, gifts, and other forms of joy to children in hospitals across Ohio. Every donation, every registration, and every cheer along the race route helped contribute to this mission, ensuring that more children will experience moments of happiness during their challenging journeys.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us on August 11th and made this event a success. Together, we are making a real difference in our community, one smile at a time.
